Adell Peterson

Adell V. Peterson, 96, of Pecatonica, IL died at 12:10 p.m., July 19, 2022 in Freeport Memorial Hospital after a brief illness. Adell was born in Pecatonica, IL on August 30, 1925 the daughter of Arthur and Dena (Klinger) Carlson. Adell graduated from Pecatonica High School, Class of 1943. On April 14, 1944 she married Gene Peterson, in the family home in Pecatonica. Gene passed away on January 4, 1999.

Adell worked at Eickman's Processing, drove school bus for Pecatonica School District #321, was a member of First Lutheran Church, Pecatonica Garden Club, Hope-Charity Circle, Pecatoinca Historical Society and Nine Investment Club. She loved to read, send greeting cards and visits with friends. Her family was the love of her life.

The children wish to extend a heartfelt "Thank You" to the special grandchildren, nieces and nephews for their loving attention to Mom.

Survivors include sons Kent (Lori) and John (Kay) Peterson; 8 grandchildren Eric Peterson, Amy (Tim) Bukoski, Andrea (Heath) McGrew, Carrie (David) Daly, Emily (Zack) Rodriguez, Deidre Peterson, Joseph (Sarah) Peterson. Step grandchildren Brandon Bonar and Christopher (Melissa) Burns. 16 Great Grandchildren MacKenzie, Elaine, Charles, Carter, Paige, Cameron, Taylor, Jacob, Daniel, Andrew, Holly, Emma, Mathew, Elizabeth, Oliver. 3 Step Great Grandchildren Mason, Owen and Layla. A Great Great Grandson Eliot. Many nieces and nephews. Preceding her in death, husband Gene, daughter Mary Beth (1968), Son Craig Peterson (2021), 3 sisters Kay Schlegel, Phyllis McFadden, Eunice Eickman; 2 daughters-in-law Judy Peterson, Gail Peterson and great grandson PJ Cox.

A memorial ceremony will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, July 30, 2022 in First Lutheran Church, 627 Taylor St. Pecatonica, IL with Reverend Nord Swanstrom officiating. Cremation Rites to be Accorded. Inurnment will be in Twelve Mile Grove Cemetery. A memorial visitation will be held at McCorkle Funeral Home - Pecatonica Chapel, 203 W. 5th Street Pecatonica, IL from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Friday July 29, 2022.
