Alice Louise “More Grammy” LaGaisse, 98, of Durand, IL died at 3:30 a.m., Sunday, April 21, 2019 in Medina Nursing Center, Durand. Born January 27, 1921 in Rockford, IL, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Camiel and Pelagie (D’Have) Gayet. Married Robert LaGaisse in Rockford, IL on September 2, 1944. Alice made pies at the Big Scoop in Durand. She was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church, Durand, IL. Survivors include daughters Linda (Darrell) Schaaf and Joann (Robert) Nielsen; son Ronald Jon LaGaisse; grandchildren Katrina White, Kara (Jake) Nevdal, Kristine (John) Nielsen-Neurauter, Kimberly (Dan Brown) Nielsen and Stacy (Theodore) Kostiuk IV; great grandchildren Gabriel and Tristian White, Katie, Matthew, Rachel and Mark Nevdal, Leo and Sam Neurauter and Alice, Eleanor and Charlotte Kostiuk and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Robert, son Roger and great granddaughter Jozie Pobjecky. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m., Friday, May 3, 2019, in St. Mary Catholic Church, 602 W. Main Street, Durand, IL. Burial will be in St. Mary Catholic Cemetery, Durand, IL.
