Andi McDevitt

Andrea Lynn "Andi" McDevitt, 35, of Roscoe, IL passed with her loved ones by her side on Tuesday, October 29, 2024, at Swedish American Hospital, after a courageous battle with cancer. Andi was born February 6, 1989, in Rockford, IL the daughter of Bruce MacDougall and Lisa Dassow. She graduated from Durand High School the class of 2007. Andi also obtained her Associate Degree in Nursing from Highland Community College. She married David McDevitt in Rockford, IL on September 4, 2009. Bentlee Michael was born on September 26, 2014, and Maverick Curtis was born on May 26, 2016. She worked as a Registered Nurse until 2018 at Freeport Memorial Hospital, FHN Pain Clinic, and OSF clinics.

Andi was an active member of Faith Community Church in Davis, IL. She was especially active in the women's ministry. Andi was extremely creative and talented. She could crochet anything, including blankets, stuffed animals, hats, scarves, water balloons, and even a Nativity set. Andi and her sister even ran an online boutique and would make shirts, cups and Christmas ornaments. Andi enjoyed spending time with her family. She recently started having family dinners at her house every Sunday. She loved movie nights, building Harry Potter Legos, and playing Pokémon Go with Dave and their boys. She was an avid Harry Potter Fan and loved everything HP.

Andi had an immense amount of people praying for her and her family throughout these last 6+ years since being diagnosed with ovarian cancer. She was very involved in various Facebook groups to include crochet groups, an October 2014 moms' group, and ovarian cancer support groups. A special thanks to all these online friends, her women's groups at church, and all those that followed her journey on our Support #TeamAndi group.

Survivors include husband David; children Bentlee and Maverick; her beloved Jerzy Girl; father Bruce (Jolene) MacDougall; mother Lisa (Gary) Dassow; maternal grandmother Diane Frank; maternal grandfather Lloyd Frank; sister Teri Nelson; brothers Bob (Ereka) MacDougall and Zach (Courtney) Woodward; sister Jessica Smola; stepsister Jody (Greg) Zissler; stepbrother Jake (Shelley) Whitsell; numerous Aunts, Uncles, Cousins, Nieces and Nephews.

Andi's passing was preceded by her beloved Bossy Butt; paternal grandparents, Curt (Char) MacDougall (Grandma & Grandpa "Mac"); and maternal grandmothers Bev Zintz and Leah Frank.

A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, November 9, 2024, at Faith Community Life Church, 212 West McKimmy St, Davis, IL with Pastor Bob Kolb officiating. Doors open to the public at 10:00am with service starting at 11:00am. Live stream of the service will be available for those too far to join us in person. Cremation Rites to be Accorded. McCorkle Funeral Home - Durand Chapel assisted the family.
