Ann Hegge

Ann Louise Hegge, 87, of Rockton, IL died at 11:41 a.m., Tuesday, June 17, 2025 in Beloit Memorial Hospital after a brief illness.

Ann was born on February 8, 1938 in Iowa City, Iowa the daughter of Elmer and Fern (Usher) Kliewer. She graduated from Audubon High School of Audubon, Iowa in 1956. Continuing her education, she then graduated from Simpson College in Indianola, Iowa in 1960 with a Bachelor's Degree in Education. Ann spent her time in education teaching at the School District of Beloit where she taught both 8th Grade History and 9th Grade World Civilization.

Ann married John Furgason Sr. on June 16, 1963 in Lincoln, Nebraska. He preceded her in death on April 13, 1994.

She married Melbourne Hegge on February 21, 1998 at Beloit First United Methodist Church. He preceded her in death March 25, 2016.

While living in Wisconsin, Ann was active in the Rock River Thresheree Association, a member of United Methodist Women and River of Life Methodist Church of Beloit, Wi.

While wintering each year at Crystal Lake Village in Wauchula, FL, Ann enjoyed teaching exercise classes, playing cards and was a member of P.E.O. Sisterhood and the Red Hat Society.

Ann was preceded in death by her parents, husbands, son Steven Furgason and step-daughter Jean Manthei.

Survived by sons John (Joetta) Furgason Jr, Robert Furgason, Michael (Jane) Furgason; daughter in law Trish Furgason; step daughters Vickie Weber, Lisa (Gerald) Nicks, Pat Wishop; her grandchildren Meranda and Malinda Furgason; numerous step-grandchildren and great grandchildren.

A Funeral Ceremony will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, June 21, 2025 at River of Life United Methodist Church, 2345 Prairie Ave, Beloit, WI with Rev. Brenda Whitford officiating. Burial to be in Plymouth Cemetery, Orfordville, WI. A visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until time of service, Saturday at the church.
