Barbara Ray Bailor, 68, of Rockton, Illinois, died at 5:30 p.m., Tuesday, January 24, 2012 in her home surrounded by her family after a courageous battle with cancer. \r\r\n\r\r\n She was born December 30, 1943 in Rochester, New York, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Arthur J. and Ilmi C. (Musakka) Ray. She graduated from West Aurora High School, Classl of 1962; then moved to Rockford to attend business school. She worked for the Rockford Park District and retired from there in 2006. After retiring she assisted Webbs Norman in writing the history of the first hundred years of the Rockford Park District. She also served as the village clerk for Rockton, Illinois for eight years. She was also the Rockton Township Town Clerk serving her first term retiring in 2012. She married Ronald E. Bailor in Rockton, Illinois on November 8, 1969. She is a member of Old Stone Church and was in the choir. \r\r\n\r\r\n Survivors include: daughter Carol (Mark) Ackerman; son Michael (Julie) Bailor both of Rockford, Illinois; grandchildren Allison Ackerman, Grayson Bailor and one on the way; parents Arthur and Ilmi Ray of North Aurora, Illinois ; brothers James (Jeannie) Ray of Beulah, Colorado and Marvin Ray of Yorkville, Illinois and several nieces and nephews.\r\r\n\r\r\n The family wishes to extend a heartfelt thank you to Dr. Nora and staff, the OSF St. Anthony Hospital and Hospice Health Care, Susan Widner, Wendy Nelson, longtime friend Mary Norman, Bob and Sheri Greenfield and Judy Winder for all their compassionate, tender and loving care given to Barb. \r\r\n\r\r\n Funeral ceremonies to be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, January 28, 2012 in the Old Stone Church, 101 East Union Street, Rockton, Illinois with Pastor Dan Herman officiating. Burial will be in the Rockton Township Cemetery in Rockton, Illinois. A visitation will be held at McCorkle Funeral Home 767 N Blackhawk Blvd. Rockton, Illinois from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m., Friday, January 27. \r\r\n\r\r\n A memorial is being established.
