Barbara Harris

Barbara Kay Harris, 81, of Pecatonica, IL died Monday, February 22, 2021 in Javon Bea Mercy Health Hospital after a brief illness.

She was born February 28, 1939 in Ridott, IL the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Steinus and Margaret (Saxby) Smith. Attended Leaf River School. Barbara married Harvey Herbig, Jr. in Freeport, IL in 1955; She married William Neely Harris in Freeport, IL on January 2, 1979 . Barbara worked at Structo; numerous restaurants in Pecatonica, Winnebago Fabricating; Burger King and Farm & Fleet in Freeport, IL. She was a former member of the Pecatonica United Methodist Church, Loyal Order of the Moose in Freeport and Midwest Snowbusters.

Survivors include: son Mark (Renae) Herbig, Dennis Herbig; grandchildren Trish (Dennis) Metz; Andrea (Brad) Small; six Great Grandchildren; two great great granddaughters; sisters Shirley (Jim) Dunn, Darlene Wilhelms; numerous nieces and nephews.

Predeceased by parents, husband, infant son; daughter in law Wendy L. Herbig.

A funeral ceremony will be 1:00 p.m., Saturday, February 27, 2021 in McCorkle Funeral Home - Countryman Chapel, 529 Washington St. Pecatonica, IL with Pastor Don Knoup officiating. Burial will be in Twelve Mile Grove Cemetery. A visitation, following COVID 19 of social distancing and wearing of masks will be held at the funeral home from 11:30 a.m. until time of funeral, Saturday.
