Betty A. DeWyze of Rockton, IL died at 4:10 a.m. Monday, October 16, 2023, at Fair Oaks Rehabilitation Center after a lengthy illness. She was born on July 24, 1934, in Chicago, IL, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William C. and Elizabeth (Braun) Terry. Betty married Thomas A. DeWyze in Chicago, IL. He precedes her in death. Betty was an office manager for the federal government for over 35 years, working primarily in the Chicago area. She was a member and former secretary of the National Association of Retired Federal Employees (NARF). Betty was a lifetime, avid Chicago Cubs and Bears fan.\n\nSurvivors include sister-in-law, Pat Kosinski of Rockton, IL; brother-in-law, Gerald DeWyze of San Francisco, CA; and many nieces and nephews. \n\nA funeral ceremony will be held at 11:30 a.m. on October 27, 2023, in McCorkle Funeral Home - Rockton Chapel, 767 N. Blackhawk Blvd, Rockton, IL with Pastor Don Stein officiating. Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, October 30, 2023, in Forest Home Cemetery, 863 Des Plaines Avenue, Forest Park, IL. A visitation will be held at the funeral home from 10:00 a.m. to the time of the ceremony.\n\nIn lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Rockford Rescue Mission, P.O.
