Betty Jean Herman

Betty Jean Herman, 87, West Chicago, IL died at 12:48 a.m., Wednesday, July 11, 2018 in Medina Nursing Center in Durand, IL.

Born January 11, 1931 in Beech Grove, IN, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William “Bill” and Theresa (Reynolds) Powell. Lived six years in Durand, coming here from West Chicago, IL, Fairfield Bay, AR and Mission, TX. Married Frank J. Herman, Jr. in Aurora, IL on July 1, 1950. She was employed as a sewing/upholsterer by Kroehler Manufacturing Co in Naperville, IL for 18 years.

Survivors include son John (Peggy) Herman, West Chicago, IL; daughter-in-law Kaye Herman, South Elgin, IL; brothers Wayne B. (Jane) Hammer, Ridott, IL and Roger (Vicki) Hammer, Iron River, WI; niece Cheryl (Ron) Genslinger, Branson, MO and nephew Daniel Herman, Clearwater, FL. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Frank, son William and brother-in-law Clarence Herman.

Graveside Ceremonies will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, August 25, 2018 in Lincoln Memorial Park, 675 Route 30, Aurora, IL with Deacon Tom Hawksworth officiating.
