Beverley Jean Rakowska, 91, of Lena, IL died at 6:53 a.m., Thursday, September 26, 2019 in Forest City Nursing Center in Rockford after a brief illness.\r\n\r\nBorn January 29, 1928 in Freeport, IL, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Arthur and Helen (Carlson) Lindquist. She graduated from Pecatonica High School. Beverley was a seamstress for many years, worked as a nurse’s aide and was an active golfer having managed Park Hills Golf Course in Freeport and Stage Coach Trails in Lena. She was a Girl Scout Leader and sang in the Lena United Methodist Church.\r\n\r\nSurvivors include daughters Wendey Larson, Vickie (John) Bruner and Terrie (Butch) Peterson; six grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; step sons Jeff (Patti) Rakowska and Danna (Colleen) Rakowska; step daughter Lisa (Ellsworth) Dascher; beloved dog Rusty and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, son Steven Arthur Dirksen, granddaughter Stephanie Takala, great grandson Joshua Alexander Brown, brothers Robert and Richard Lindquist and son-in-law Clare Larson.\r\n\r\nA Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Cremation rites to be accorded with final resting place in Twelve Mile Grove Cemetery, Pecatonica, IL.
