Bruce E. Mueller, 92, of Rockton, IL died at 8:45 a.m., Monday, November 13, 2023 in his own home after a brief illness. He was born on May 22, 1931 in Moline, IL the son of Mr. and Mrs. Wilbur and Meryle (Thornburg) Mueller. \n\nBruce graduated Phi Beta Kappa with a Bachelor's Degree at Augustana College in Geology and his Master's Degree at University of Illinois - Champaign in Geology. He married Shirley Ingersoll in Moline, IL on December 8, 1950. Bruce was a secondary education teacher for the Rockford School District 205 retiring in 1986. Bruce with his family founded the C and M Rock Shop in Honor, MI and The Gem Shop in Downtown Rockton, IL. Bruce enjoyed rock and fossil hunting.\n\nSurvivors include: wife: Shirley; sons Kevin (Leena) and Paul Mueller; grandson Bryan; granddaughter Leesa; numerous nieces and nephews. Predeceased by parents, brothers Paul Mueller and Keith Mueller.\n\nA celebration of life at 12:00 p.m., Monday, December 11, 2023 in McCorkle Funeral Home - Rockton Chapel, 767 N. Blackhawk Blvd. with Celebrant Howard Katz officiating. Burial will be in Rockton Township Cemetery. A visitation will be held at the funeral home from 10:00 a.m. until time of ceremony.
