Carl “Jim” Talley, 82, of South Beloit, IL passed away at 6:35 p.m., Saturday, July 22, 2017 at home after a lengthy illness.\r\n\r\nHe was born November 10, 1934 in Fowler, Indiana; he was the son of Carl Peter and Dorothy F (Klopp) Talley. He lived 60 years in the Northern Illinois area, coming from Fowler, Indiana. He attended and graduated in the Fowler School District. Jim married Mary J Rood in The Church by the Side of the Road, Rockton, IL on September 26, 1969. He was employed as a Design Engineer for Ingersoll. He was a Veteran of the United States Air Force and the United States Army. Jim considered himself a handyman, having rebuilt his house and helped others with remodels. He enjoyed yard work, especially his flowers. Jim also dabbled in sculpturing. He was a former Boy Scout Leader. He also always reminded us to bring him his NY Times crossword, that he enjoyed so much.\r\n\r\nSurvivors include wife Mary Jane; son Tyler (Mary Day) Talley; sisters Jana (Brook) Sanford and Tierny Talley.\r\n\r\nCremation Rites to be Accorded.
