Carol Ellis, 90

Carol (Williams) Ellis of Davis, IL was born Dec.19, 1935, the youngest daughter of Carlton & Amelia Williams. She passed away on Sunday, Dec. 28, 2025 at SSM Monroe Hospital.

She grew up on the family farm in Rockton, IL and graduated from Hononegah High School in 1953. She graduated with a teaching degree from Northern Illinois teacher’s college in 1955. She married Russell Ellis of Rockton on March 1, 1958. They eventually moved to Roscoe where they raised their 3 children. They moved to Davis, IL in 1990. She & Russ enjoyed traveling & getting together with “the Roscoe group” of friends.

She was a member of St. Paul Church of Epleyanna, where she was also a member of the women’s club. She loved to garden, read and most of all loved to take care of her family. She would gladly host birthday parties, Christmas, or babysit her grandchildren, great-grandchildren or grand-dogs. She would try to attend every concert, ball game, school or church event - first for her children, then the grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Carol is survived by her 3 children: Jeff (Cindy) Ellis, Vicki (Kevin) Engelking, and Tim (Sarah) Ellis. 6 grandchildren: Justin (Kayla) Engelking, Jared (Corey) Engelking, Jessica (Daniel) Kassen, Jenna (Jeremy) Crawford, Ian Ellis and Megan (fiance Joe Shoemaker) Ellis, and step-grandchildren Leesa (Ryan) Haeffner & Lauren (Will Burr) Potthoff. 8 great-grandchildren: Aloisia, Sawyer, Juniper, Zari, Marvin, Grant, Owen, Luke. Also survived by 1 sister: Irene Ulferts, multiple nieces, nephews, grand- and great-grand nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her parents, husband Russ, siblings Elaine, Ella, Wayne, James and Leona, in-laws: Gordon, Bill, Ora Mae, Arlene, Forest, Warren, Vic and Ted.

A Funeral Ceremony will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, January 3, 2026 at McCorkle Funeral Home - Rockton Chapel, 767 N. Blackhawk Blvd., Rockton, IL with Pastor Cory Williams officiating. Visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. until time of service. Luncheon provided at Old Stone Church, Rockton following services. Burial will be at Davis Cemetery.
