Carol J. Lizer, 74 of Pecatonica, IL died at 1:36 p.m., Saturday, January 12, 2019 in Javon Bea Hospital in Rockford, IL after a brief illness. \r\n\r\nShe was born February 13, 1944 in Freeport, IL, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence and Frieda (Bornemeier) Sorn. She attended Freeport High School. Carol married Robert Lee Lizer on March 12, 1966. Carol was employed by Newell and then Honeywell Plant 4, retiring in 2009. \r\n\r\nShe is survived by daughter Tina (Carl) Heidenreich of Savanah, IL; sons Russell (Deb) Sorn of Mississippi, Bobby (Fiancee Cindy) Lizer of Freeport, IL; daughter Deanna (Wayne) Shere of Pecatonica, IL; nine grandchildren; six great grandchildren; brother Joe (Jean) Sorn of Freeport, IL; numerous nieces and nephews and special friends from the Booties breakfast club; Char, Maude, VeeAnn, Joanie. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brothers and sisters. \r\n\r\nA memorial ceremony will be held at 5:00 p.m., Wednesday, January 16, 2019 in McCorkle Funeral Home – Countryman Chapel, 529 Washington St., Pecatonica, IL with Reverend Terry Theiss of St. John’s Lutheran Church officiating. \r\n\r\nCremation Rites to be accorded. \r\n\r\nA visitation will be held at the funeral home from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. Wednesday.
