Charlotte "Sherri" Kulawinski

Charlotte M. "Sherri" Kulawinski, 70 of Rockton, IL died on Friday, July 18, 2025 in UW Hospital in Madison, WI after she lost her battle to cancer.

She was born on April 19, 1955, in Ft. Monroe, VA the daughter of Dr. and Mrs. John N. (Alma) Schuetz. Sherri graduated from the University of Illinois with her bachelor’s degree and received her master’s degree from Illinois State University. She was a member of the Alpha Omicron Pi sorority sisterhood. Sherri married Jeff Kulawinski in Rockton, IL on June 11, 1994. Sherri taught for 35 plus years, retiring in 2012 from Whitman Post Elementary School in Rockton Il. She then worked at the Literacy Council teaching adults, specializing in English as a second language (ESL). Sherri was a long term member of Blackhawk Valley Region of Sports Car Club of America for 40+ years, a very involved member of St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church in Beloit WI, and, in her younger years, she was active in the Girl Scouts of America.

Survivors include husband Jeff; daughter Carolyn (Ronald) Marlowe; brother John Schuetz; nephews Eric, Greg and Peter (Sophia) Kelly-Smith, brother and sister-in-law Luis (Pancho) & Shirley Urena, nieces Christina Urena and Annette (Mark) Tucker, great nephews Jason, Dylan and niece Colette. Predeceased by her parents, in laws and sister-in-law Megan Schuetz.

A Memorial Mass will be held at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church, 822 E Grand Ave, Beloit, WI at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 2, 2025. Cremation Rites will be Accorded. A Memorial Visitation will be held at McCorkle Funeral Home - Rockton Chapel, 767 N. Blackhawk Blvd., Rockton, IL from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Friday, August 1, 2025.
