Dale Barmore

Dale J. (Stiles) Barmore passed away peacefully the morning of Saturday, February 25, 2023 at the age of 69 after a long battle with early onset Alzheimer's and Parkinson's disease. Dale was born June 23, 1953 in Sioux City, Iowa to Emmett E. Stiles and Lois J. (McCue) Stiles. She graduated from East High School in 1971 and proceeded to earn her Bachelor degree with a major in Advertising Design, and a minor in Horticulture from Iowa State University in 1975. Dale married the love of her life, Paul M. Barmore, on June 7, 1975 in Sioux City, Iowa. As a result of upward career transfers for Paul, they lived in Minnesota, Georgia, Texas, Iowa, and Illinois, and in 1987 they made their home in Rockton, Illinois where they raised their three children.

Dale was a funny, gregarious, and loving woman whose energy brightened any situation. She was an active member of Christ Our Savior Lutheran Church where she loved to sing with the Praise Team. Dale's love of music led her to take up the acoustic guitar, which she endearingly named Charlie. She could also play a beautiful rendition of Amazing Grace on the harmonica. She was an excellent artist and could create with any media, her favorite being watercolor. She put her artistic talents to use designing ads for Pepper Creek Greenhouse as well as working as a greenhouse technician. Dale's quick wit and sense of humor livened up a room and she will be missed by those who knew and loved her.

She is survived by her daughter Laurel (Sam) Schmitz; sons Tom (Mikael) Barmore and Dan (Danielle) Barmore; grandchildren Bram and Imoen Schmitz, Tanner and Emily Blake Barmore, and Finley and Quinn Barmore; sister Karen Stiles (Mike Schaffer) and brothers Ted (Monica) Stiles and Tim (Chris) Stiles and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. She is preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Paul.

A Memorial Ceremony will be held 11:00 a.m., March 16, 2023 at Christ Our Savior Lutheran Church Roscoe, IL with Reverend Eugene Dassow officiating. Cremation Rites were Accorded. A visitation will be held at McCorkle Funeral Home - Rockton Chapel, 767 N. Blackhawk Blvd., Rockton, IL on March 15, 2023 from 5:00 pm - 8:00 pm.
