David William Queen, 81 of Roscoe, Illinois, died at 9:40 p.m., Wednesday, July 31, 2013 at home surrounded by his loving family. \r\r\n\r\r\n He was born March 9, 1932 in Warsaw, Illinois, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Loren and Grace (Knight) Queen. He married the former Joyce E. Voorhies in Alabama on July 10, 1967. David was a minister in California and Roscoe, Illinois and he was a tool and die maker that worked for various companies and retired from Modern Metal in 1997. Member of Life Church in Roscoe, Illinois and various church organizations. \r\r\n\r\r\n The family wishes to extend a heartfelt thank you to DeVita Dialysis and Rockford Memorial Hospital nurses and staff for all their tender loving and compassionate care given to David. \r\r\n\r\r\n Survivors include wife, Joyce; son, David (Michelle) Queen Jr.; daughters, Mary K. Queen, Angela (Chris) Ruper, Lisa Queen and Theresa (Brad) Peak; son-in-law, Martin Selover; grandchildren, Kim (David) Commisso, Kevin Selover, Joseph Queen, Rebecca Queen, Tiffany Queen, Amanda Ruper, Connor Ruper, Tyler Queen, Alyssa Peak and Ava Peak;great grandchildren, Jenna Commisso, Audrie Commisso, Grey Selover and Graysyn Queen, sister Evangeline (Harold) Frederick and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, daughter Cindy K. Selover, granddaughter Jennifer Marie Queen and sister Loretta Goodman. \r\r\n\r\r\n Funeral ceremonies to be held at 1:00 p.m., Monday, August 5, 2013 in Life Church, 5910 Elevator Road, Roscoe, Illinois with Pastor Ben Carter officiating. Burial will be in Willowbrook Cemetery. A visitation will be held at McCorkle Funeral Home-Rockton Chapel, 767 N Blackhawk Blvd Rockton, Illinois from 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm, Sunday, \r\r\n\r\r\n August 4.
