David Zimmersman

David Zimmerman, 75, of Pecatonica, IL died at 7:17 a.m., Thursday December 3, 2020 in his home after a brief illness.

He was born December 22, 1949 in Rockford, IL the son of Mr. and Mrs. Charles and Eldora (Bury) Zimmerman, Jr. He graduated from Durand High School Class of 1967 and Rock Valley College with a Associate Degree the =n attended Northern Illinois University. Enlisted in the US Navy during the Vietnam War. He married Patricia Dach in Durand, IL on June 27, 1970; he later married Judith Slocum Alberstett in Pecatonica August 14, 1994. Dave was the Maintenance Supervisor at Lake Summerset for over 30 years; Owned and operated House Medic; then worked at TR Machines in Davis, IL retiring in 2019. Member of the Durand Gold Star American Legion Post ##. Was a volunteer fireman for the Davis Fire Department for many years; Dave was an adventurous soul that enjoyed hiking, flying, scuba diving and all outdoor activities; His greatest joy was photography and he won many awards for his photos.

He is survived by his wife Judy; son Jeff Zimmerman; daughter Amy (Greg) Shuman; stepsons Matt Alberstett, Kurt Alberstett; grandchildren Kayla, Zachary, Luke, Alex, Mary Kate; Mother Dorie Zimmerman; brother Dennis (Mary Jean) Zimmerman. Predeceased by his father.

Private ceremonies will be held. Cremation Rites to be Accorded. McCorkle Funeral Home- Durand Chapel assisted the family.
