Dena Marie Campo, 60, Rockton, Illinois went home to be with her Lord on Sunday morning, November 24, 2013 in her home surrounded by her family.\r\r\n\r\r\n She was born July 17, 1953 in Springfield, Illinois, the daughter of Russell and Donna (Flowers) Handy. Dena was a member of Central Christian Church in Beloit, Wisconsin. She was a graduate of Patricia Stevens Career College in St. Louis. Dena married Carl Campo in Springfield, Illinois on April 26, 1974. Dena was the best mom to daughters Natalie and Nikki and always put them first in her life. A very loving and giving grandmother, Dena, also known as Nan, spent a lot of time with her three grandsons Grady, Jack and Clay. She liked to say she was “retired” so that she could spend more time with the boys. Dena also enjoyed gardening, often sharing cut flowers and plants from her flower beds with her many friends. Employed by Chico’s for four years, most recently as an assistant store manager. Dena thoroughly enjoyed working in retail women’s clothing most of her career.\r\r\n\r\r\nSurvivors include husband of 39 years, Carl; daughters, Natalie (Peter Kleuser MD) Campo MD, of Nashville and Nicole (Paul Schoper) Campo of Chicago; grandsons Grady, Jack, and Clayton; father, Russell Handy of Pana, Illinois; brother Mark (Marty) Handy of Pana, Illinois; sisters, Suzi (Tim) Castle of Pana, Illinois and Chris (Butch) Kallis of Peru, Illinois; Aunt Sue Taylor of Pana, Illinois and many other aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. \r\r\n\r\r\nFuneral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, November 30, 2013 at Central Christian Church, 2460 Milwaukee Road, Beloit, Wisconsin with Pastor Erik Henry officiating. Burial will be in Rockton Township Cemetery, 600 West Street, Rockton, Illinois immediately following the service. Visitation will be will be held from 4:00 -8:00 p.m., Friday, November 29, 2013, at McCorkle Funeral Home - Rockton Chapel, 767 N Blackhawk Blvd, Rockton, Illinois.
