Dominick Lomanto Obituary (1941 - 2024)

Dominick L. Lomanto, 82, of Lake Summerset, IL died on Saturday March 30, 2024 in the VA Hospital in Madison, WI after a brief illness. He was born April 11, 1941 in Brooklyn, NY the son of Mr. and Mrs. Michael and Elena (Aulicino) Lomanto. Dominick attended George W. Wingate High School class of 1960 in New York. Dominick entered the US Army serving from 1963 to 1965 as a mail carrier. He was employed by the US Postal Service for 29 years, starting in New York and then New Jersey. He then worked for Southeast Municipal Water Authority in Morristown, New Jersey before retiring in August of 2006. Member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Durand, IL; Durand American Legion Gold Star Post #676, he was a member of the American Legion for 50 years. In his early years he enjoyed drag racing and was a member of the Roadside Gents Drag Race Club. Survivors include wife Rosalie; five children; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren; brother Anthony (Emily) Lomanto; numerous nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents. Per Dominick's request Cremation Rites will be Accorded and private family ceremonies will be held.
