Donald Brocker

Donald W. Brocker, Sr. 88, of Pecatonica, IL died at 6:50 a.m., Wednesday, November 3, 2021 at home after a brief illness.

He was born on November 19, 1932 in Oneida, WI, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Charles and Ella (Schumacher) Brocker. Graduated from Seymour High School class of 1950 and Rock Valley College class of 1983. He entered in the U. S. Air Force on December 3, 1951 and retired as Master Sargent in June 1, 1972. While in the Airforce he married Margaret A. Smith in Phoenix, AZ on December 19, 1953. After retiring from the Air Force he worked for the U. S. Post Office for 21 years retiring in 1994. Owned and operated the Seward Shopping Center for ten years. Member of St. John Lutheran Church, serving as a past elder, Winnebago Library Board, Seward Historical Society, Eugene Barloga American Legion Post #197.

Survivors include: son Donald W. (Diana) Brocker, Jr., San Antonio, TX; daughter Debra (Richard) Goetze, Griggsville, IL; son Richard A. (Julie) Brocker, Sr., Woodstock, GA; daughters Camilla (Bob) Durham, Genoa, IL and Rhonda Knoll, Seward, IL; 14 grandchildren; 16 Great Grandchildren with one on the way and numerous nieces and nephews.

Predeceased by parents, wife, son-in-law James Knoll, three sisters and two brothers.

A funeral Ceremony will be held on Tuesday, November 9, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. in McCorkle Funeral Home - Countryman Chapel, 529 Washington Street, Pecatonica, IL with Pastor Terry Theiss officiating. Burial in Winnebago Cemetery. A visitation will be held at the funeral home from 4:00 p.m. to 7 p.m., Monday.
