Donald Thomas Olson, 81 or Rockton, IL, our wonderful, caring, funny, confidence inspiring Dad passed away on July 2, 2014 after a courageous battle with Parkinson’s disease. \r\r\n\r\r\n Totally in love with our mom, Margie Ann (Dickerson), Dad was the most fun, most gracious, least judgmental person we and his many friends have ever known. He enjoyed making family and friend’s happy, playing golf, cheering on the Green Bay Packers, and listening to good jazz and blues. Don was a US Air Force crew chief on B-47 bombers during the cold war and continued his love of air power working for Sundstrand Aviation for 33 years. \r\r\n\r\r\n In his honor, we plan to allow his greatness to live on through us. Dad is survived by his loving wife of 61 years; sons Steve (Chong), Curt (Merilee), Ben (Jan) and daughter Meg (Ken) Lewis; grandchildren Thomas, Dana (Adam) Mills, Tyler, Kollin, Jack and Audrey; great grandchildren Nicole and Curtis; wonderful in-laws and many special nieces and nephews. \r\r\n\r\r\n Dad is preceded in death by his parents Barbara and Thomas Olson. Our family would like to thank the At-Home Healthcare and Beloit Regional Hospice for all the loving care provided to Don and Margie over the past year. \r\r\n\r\r\n A memorial ceremony will be held at 11:00 am Wednesday July 9, 2014 in the Old Stone Church with Pastor Dan Herman officiating. Cremation Rites will be accorded. \r\r\n\r\r\n Final resting place will be in Luther Valley Cemetery. \r\r\n\r\r\n A memorial will be established at a later date.
