Donna Molander

Donna M. Molander was born on March 20, 1942, in Rockford, Illinois. She passed away peacefully on February 3, 2024. Donna was a lifelong resident of Rockford and Rockton, Illinois. She was committed to cultivating a loving home for her family. She was known for her supportive, thoughtful, and reliable nature, always ready to lend a helping hand and share her love with those around her.

Donna was a valued employee at Dixon Automatic Tool in Rockford, where she served as a secretary for 30 years. Her commitment and reliability were highly regarded. Her professional achievements paled in comparison to the joy she found in her personal life. Donna was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend to many. She doted on her family, always eager to plan birthday parties, holiday dinners, and attend school and sports events of her children and grand children. Her home was a gathering place for loved ones, always welcoming and inviting, surrounded by the beautiful flower beds she loved and cared for. Donna also had a cherished companion in her dog, Penny, with whom she loved to walk and sit outdoors.

Donna was a woman of faith, regularly attending services at GPS Faith Community in Machesney Park and Zion Lutheran Church in Rockford. What mattered most to Donna was her family. She leaves behind a legacy of love and care, embodied by her children Chris (Jennifer) Molander, Debbie (Rod) Meyer, Curt (Kristen) Molander, Jill Molander, her 11 grandchildren, and 9 great-grandchildren. Donna is also survived by her siblings LaVon Ericson, Ronnie Webster, and Sheri Dimond. She was preceded in death by her parents, Donald and Dorothy Webster, her husband Gerald Molander, her son Craig Molander, and her brothers Dennis and Donald Webster.

A public visitation for Donna Molander will be held on Saturday, March 2, 2024, at 10:00 am CST at GPS Faith Community located at 11189 Forest Hills Road, Machesney Park, Illinois. The memorial ceremony will follow at 10:30 am CST with Pastor Brandon Nelson officiating. The committal ceremony will be held at 11:30 am CST at Sunset Funeral Home & Memorial Gardens at 8800 North Alpine Road, Machesney Park, Illinois. Cremation Rites were Accorded.
