Duane D. Hall Sr., 84, of Roscoe, IL died at 2:05 p.m., Wednesday, February 20, 2019 at Fair Oaks Nursing Home after a lengthy battle with stroke recovery. \r\n\r\nBorn July 1, 1934 in Roscoe, IL, son of Mr. and Mrs. Don and Louise (Selover) Hall. He attended Hononegah High School. Duane married the former Emma M. Cugler in Pedricktown, New Jersey on October 29, 1955. He was employed as a truck driver by Cassens Transport for many years before retiring in 1995 and was a Veteran of the Korean Conflict, serving in the United States Army. He was a member of Heritage Baptist church where he was a groundskeeper and also enjoyed putting together model ships and airplanes. \r\n\r\nSurvivors include wife Emma; daughter Viki (Bill) Gridley; sons Duane (Mary) Hall Jr. and Frank (Brenda) Hall; grandchildren Rick (Kristen), Heather, Duane III, Katie, Ashley (Don), Cody (Jessica), Chase (Fiancée Dani) and Cameron; 13 great grandchildren; sisters Juanita (Harry) Fisher and Janice Hall as well as many numerous nieces and nephews. \r\n\r\nHe is preceded in death by his parents and brother Dennis. \r\n\r\nFuneral ceremonies will be at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, February 26, 2019 at Heritage Baptist Church, 12848 Willowbrook Road, Roscoe, IL with Rev. Dave Anderson officiating. Burial will be in Floral Lawn Memorial Gardens, South Beloit, IL. A visitation will be held at the church from 10:00 a.m. until time of funeral on Tuesday.
