Edith Mae Matteson

Edith Mae (Carter) (Kinney) Matteson, 101, of Durand, IL passed away on September 1, 2019 in Medina Manor, Durand, IL.

Born February 17, 1918, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Edward M. and Ruth (Todd) Carter. She was born at her grandmother’s home on South Main in Rockford, IL.

She is survived by her daughters Joyce Bagley and Jean Busjahn; sisters Vivian Emmert and Dorothy Noegel; eight grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren; 10 great-great grandchildren; extended family (the Matteson’s) grandchildren Glen (Barb), Mark and Shirley; four great grandchildren and four great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband’s Elwood Kinney and Merton Matteson, two sons Keith Duane Kinney and Kenneth Lee Kinney and four brothers Floyd Carter, Robert Carter, Don Carter and Lawrence (Shorty) Carter.

Per Edith’s wishes, no services will be held. Cremation rites will be accorded with final resting place to be in Shirland Township Cemetery. A family gathering will be set at a future date.
