Edward Guy Stubblefield, 85, Rockford, Illinois died at 12:08 a.m., Wednesday, November 10, 2010 in Amberwood Care Center from natural causes. \r\r\n\r\r\n Born November 24, 1924 in Dalton, Arkansas, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Elijah and Mary Ann (Blackwell) Stubblefield. Lived 62 years in Rockford, Illinois, coming here from Arkansas. He married the former Marie Milligan in Walnut Ridge, Arkansas on June 11, 1945. She preceded him in death in 1977. He was employed by Barnes Drill Co in Rockford from 1948-1964, International Association of Machinist from 1964-1974, he was then elected Illinois State Representative from 1974-1976 and then worked for the National International Association of Machinist Union Grand Lodge. He was a member of the Church of God in Rockford, Illinois. \r\r\n\r\r\n Survivors include wife Crystal Stubblefield; one son Dan (Karen) Stubblefield, both of Rockford, Illinois; grandson Kenneth Stubblefield, Atlanta, Georgia; granddaughters Cathleen Stubblefield, Indianapolis, Indiana and Charity (Joel) Flores and great grandsons Miguel and Xavier Flores all of Crawfordsville, Indiana. \r\r\n\r\r\n Funeral Ceremonies will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, November 13, 2010 in Halsted Road Baptist Church, 3326 Halsted Road, Rockford, Illinois with Reverend Karen Stubblefield officiating. Burial will be in Owen Township Cemetery. McCorkle Funeral Home, 101 Main Street, Durand, Illinois assisted the family. Visitation will be held at the church from 9:00 a.m. until time of service Saturday. \r\r\n\r\r\n A memorial has been established.
