Elizabeth “Betty” A. Hansen, 83, of South Beloit and Dubois, Wyoming died at 12:25 p.m. Friday, July 20, 2012 in her daughters home surrounded by her family after a sudden illness. Born July 27, 1928 in Watertown, Wisconsin to Mr. and Mrs. Paul B. and Martha (Karge) Hoeft. Betty was raised in Beloit, WI. She married Charles L. Hansen in Beloit, WI on April 21, 1951, and lived 37 years in South Beloit where they raised their family. They wintered in Yuma, Arizona, and summered in Dubois, Wyoming. Following her husband’s death in 2008, she permanently resided in Dubois, Wyoming. She enjoyed raising her children and keeping her home. Upon her husband’s retirement they were volunteers with Shoshone National Forest Service hosting wilderness camp grounds. Among her many talents, Betty was a self taught artist, musician, and seamstress. Her gentle caring nature was a gift for making lifelong friends. \r\r\n\r\r\n Betty is survived by her sons, Russell A. (Karyn) Hansen, Arnold L. (Pam) Hansen, and Mark C. (Lorraine) Hansen; daughters, Barbara J. (James) Hansen-Peterson, and Mary E. (Donald) Hansen- Paris; grandchildren, Jarod (Angie), Candy, Donald, Arne, Liz (Rick), Roger, Angela (Cavon), Robert, and Amy (Cory); 20 great-grandchildren, 1 great great grandchild; brother, Norman (Bernice) Hoeft; and sisters, Gladys Scheele, Eunice Rogers, and Dorothy Hanson. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles; grandson, Bryan; infant brother, Harry; brother, Harold; and sisters, Lorraine, Carol, and Doris. \r\r\n\r\r\n Memorial Ceremony will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, July 27, 2012 in McCorkle Funeral Home, 767 N. Blackhawk Blvd. Rockton, with Reverend Tina Koenig Ray, pastor of Atonement Lutheran Church, Beloit, WI officiating. Cremation rites were accorded. Memorial visitation will be held in the funeral home at 10:00 a.m. Friday prior to the funeral ceremony. Another memorial ceremony will be held in Dubois, Wyoming at a later date.
