Francis H. Brown, 91, Davis, Illinois, died at 1:30 p.m., Sunday, May 29, 2016 in his home surrounded by his loving family.\r\r\n\r\r\n Born April 18, 1925 in Davis, Illinois, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence W. and Barbara E. (Kloster) Brown. He attended Davis School. Francis married the former Wilma J. Lapp in Dakota, Illinois on November 25, 1948. He was employed as a machinist by Barber Colman and Kelly Springfield. Francis was a veteran of WWII, serving in the U.S. Marine Corp. He was a member of Davis United Methodist Church and Durand American Legion Gold Star Post #676.\r\r\n\r\r\n Survivors include his wife, Wilma Brown, Davis, Illinois; daughters, Lana (Michael) Woodruff, Cleveland, Tennessee and Pam (Bob) Klever, Davis, Illinois, son, Bill Brown, Rock City, Illinois, daughters, Elaine (Claudie) Kellicut, Durand, Illinois and LuAnn Ward, Minneapolis, Minnesota, nine grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Marion Brown and sister Leona Brown.\r\r\n\r\r\n Funeral ceremonies will be held at 7:00 p.m., Friday, June 3, 2016 in McCorkle Funeral Home – Durand Chapel, 101 W Main Street, Durand, Illinois with Reverend Brenda Bryne of Davis United Methodist Church officiating. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 5:30 p.m. until time of services Friday. Final resting place will be in Davis Cemetery, Davis, Illinois. Cremation rites will be accorded.\r\r\n\r\r\n A memorial will be established.
