Gary A. Hospelhorn

Gary A. Hospelhorn, 69, of Winnebago, IL died at 7:40 am Saturday October 29, 2016 in his home surrounded by his loving family.

He was born January 19, 1947 in Bloomington, IL the son of Mr. and Mrs. Delmar and Lucy (Troyer) Hospelhorn. Gary graduated from Illinois State University. He married Mary E. Hagan the love of his life on July 4, 1969. Gary and Mary traveled all over the world. This was their passion together. Their favorite place was Jamaica and made that their yearly destination.

Gary was a financial advisor working for Dimond Bros. Throughout Gary’s career with Ferguson Financial and Dimond Bros, he spent many hours with his clients. His clients were very special to him. His mission was to make sure that his clients and their families were prepared for everything in life. Gary loved playing golf with “the Golf Mafia”. He especially loved golfing with his son, Lee. Former member of Board of Directors for Freeport Memorial Hospital; served on the Pecatonica Education Foundation. Gary loved his family dearly and always took care of every one of them. Gary always saw the positive in every situation and could spread that to everyone he met.

Survivors include daughter Lyn (Rick) Bilderback; son Lee A. (Angela) Hospelhorn; grandchildren Jacob, Emily, Troy and Brock; mother Lucy Hospelhorn; brother Paul (Doris) Hospelhorn; sister Helen (Dan) Ward; brother Keith (Sue) Hospelhorn; numerous nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his father and wife.

A memorial ceremony for Gary and Mary will be held at 3:00 pm Saturday November 5, 2016 at the Pecatonica Middle School 1200 Main St. Pecatonica, IL. A gathering of friends will be at the Pecatonica Middle School from 12:00 pm unitl 3:00 pm Saturday.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be given to the family.
