Gary Lee Schultz, 68, Roscoe, IL died at 6:50 p.m., Wednesday, July 6, 2016 in Swedish American Hospital, surrounded by his family, after a lengthy illness.\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n Born June 27, 1948 in Beloit, WI the son of Mr. and Mrs. Jesse and Evelyn (Schoville) Schultz. He married the former Phyllis Wood in Rockton, IL on April 20, 1968. Gary was employed as a polisher by Taylor Freezer for 35 years. He was a member of the Royal Order Moose Club in Beloit, WI. He loved to play Euchre and gamble and was an avid bowler, fisherman “making lures” and playing horseshoes. Gary loved his family and enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, “the Sparkle of his eye”.\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n Survivors include wife, Phyllis Schultz, Roscoe, IL; daughter, Stacie (Tim) Hudson, Beloit, WI; son, Chad (Traci Houghton) Schultz, Roscoe, IL; grandchildren, Makenzie Hudson, Isaac Schultz, Ella Schultz; sister, Dinah Rhodes, Janesville, WI and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by parents, son Gary Newton Schultz and brothers Jim Schultz and Ross Tinder.\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n Funeral ceremonies will be held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, July 12, 2016 in McCorkle Funeral Home – Rockton Chapel, 767 N Blackhawk Blvd., Rockton, IL with pastor Dan Herman of Old Stone Church officiating. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 9:00 a.m. till time of service Tuesday. Burial will be in Roscoe Township Cemetery, Roscoe, IL. \r\n\r\n\r\n\r\nA memorial will be established.
