Gerald (Jerry) R. Doty\r\nPassed at home on August 8, 2019. The son of the late George and Genevieve Doty. Born in Freeport IL. February 14, 1934. Graduated from Winnebago High School 1952. Joined the Air Force during the Korean War and served 5 years. Married Evelyn Tomlinson on July 12, 1955. After his military service they returned to Capron IL to join his father in the family farm until 1962. Jerry and Evelyn started 5 Point Realtors, which they owned for over 50 years. Jerry retired in 1996 and enjoyed fishing at their cabin in Mercer, Wi., traveling, mountain hunting and flying. When back home he restored Vintage scooters and drove one of them to the top of Pikes Peak. Member of the National Vintage Scooter Club.\r\nSurvived by wife, Evelyn, 4 Children; Russel (Lin), Mark (Julia), Sandra Pastore, Susan (Randall) Sheetz, 11 Grandchildren and 18 Great Grandchildren. Brother Bruce (Phyllis) Doty, Sister Carol (Richard) Gasparini and many nieces’ and nephews’. \r\nWe would like to sincerely thank Northern Illinois Hospice for all the love and care they provided Jerry in his time in need.\r\nA funeral ceremony will be held at 11:00 am Saturday August 17, 2019 in McCorkle Funeral Home – Countryman Chapel 529 Washington St. Pecatonica, IL with Reverend Mark Gilmore of Pecatonica United Methodist Church officiating. Burial will be in Twelve Mile Grove Cemetery. A visitation will be held at the funeral home from 10:00 am until time of funeral Saturday.
