Gerald “Gerry” Lange, 83, of Freeport, IL, died at 12:30 a.m., Saturday, May 13, 2017 in Liberty Village after a brief illness. \r\n\r\nHe was born December 3, 1933 in Elgin, IL, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Waldemare and Helene Lange. He graduated from Dundee High School and was employed by Star Manufacturing. He was a member of First Congregational Church in Pecatonica, IL, where he served on the Board of Trustees and sang in the choir. Gerry enjoyed bowling, golfing, was an avid Chicago Cubs and Bear fan and enjoyed playing horseshoes. Gerry really enjoyed watching his grandchildren play sports. \r\n\r\nSurvivors include son Jeff (Karen) Lange, Lake in the Hills, IL; daughters Brenda (Kevin) Weires, Pecatonica, IL and Andrea Hamm, Rockford, IL; six grandchildren Jeff Lange, Justin (Angela Benjamin) Boyer, Aaron (Jessica) Weires, Herb Hamm, Ashley (Ross LaMont) Dover and Celsey Weires; five great grandchildren Caleb, Lilly, Reid, Prestyn and Ava; brother Richard (Linda) Lange, Elkhorn, WI; sister Janet Lange, Delevan, WI and several nieces and nephews. \r\n\r\nMemorial Ceremonies will be held at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, June 3, 2017 in McCorkle Funeral Home – Countryman Chapel, 529 Washington Street, Pecatonica, IL with Reverend Sandra Mineau officiating. Cremation Rites were Accorded. Final resting place to be Twelve Mile Grove Cemetery.
