Helen Louise Hamilton, 94 of Pecatonica, IL died at 8:00 a.m., Wednesday, May 4, 2016 in her own home. \r\r\n\r\r\n She was born December 7, 1921 in Du Quoin, IL, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Raymond and Frankie (Short) Wheatley. Graduated from Du Quoin Township High School. Helen lived 67 years in Pecatonica, coming here from Du Quoin, IL. Married William Thomas Hamilton in Jackson, MO on September 6, 1941. Member of Pecatonica United Methodist Church, former member of St. Elmo Chapter Eastern Star, was a Girl Scout Leader and Sunday School Teacher. Helen enjoyed her family greatly. She loved to cook and be out of doors, she was willing to help friends and neighbors when needed. She also was helpful to her husband in his business. Helen enjoyed reading and her beautiful geraniums. \r\r\n\r\r\n Survivors include daughters Gayle (Will) Franks of Franklin, TN and Jackie (John) Moyer of Pecatonica, IL; grandchildren Michelle (Paul) Hendricks, Rockford, IL, Michael Bennett, Chicago, IL, Jennifer (Jeremy) Guffey, Winnebago, IL, Jason (Kathy)Moyer, Pecatonica, IL; great grandchildren Jordan and Megan Hendricks, Jayden and Jayger Guffey, John Clark Moyer and Vinney and Anthony Schlickman and numerous nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her parents, husband, sister Blanche Breeding and brother Elmer Wheatley. \r\r\n\r\r\n Funeral ceremony to be held at 1:00 p.m., Monday, May 9, 2016 in Pecatonica United Methodist Church 528 Washington St, Pecatonica, IL with Reverend Brian Channel officiating. Burial will be in Twelve Mile Grove Cemetery. A visitation will be held from 11:30 a.m. to time of funeral at the church. In lieu of flowers memorials may be given to Pecatonica United Methodist Church.
