Jake Jacob

Stephen "Jake" Bruce Jacob, 74, of Rockton, IL passed away Monday, September 16, 2024, surrounded by his family. Born March 30, 1950, in Gary, Indiana to Stephen and Ida Jacob. Jake married the love of his life, Linda (Weber) on December 30, 1984, in Las Vegas, NV, he and Linda raised their family in Rockton.

After high school Jake enjoyed the 1970's (his hippie era) by traveling and living in different areas of the country, including Arizona and Wisconsin. He finally set his roots in Illinois in the 1980's. Falling in love with Linda landed Jake in Rockton where he lived for 40 years.

Jake spent much of his adult life in the meat equipment industry with territories around the Rockford area to Chicago. As a successful businessman, he chose to start down another business path. In 2001, Jake founded A Fantasy Limousine. He spent many years growing and managing his businesses. Along the way of building his small town family business, many customers became friends and employees became family. After many years, he had the honor of passing down the family business to his daughter, Stefanie, in 2021.

His passions over the years included his motorcycles, big game hunting, golfing with his friends, and swimming with his grandkids. In recent years, Jake has enjoyed having more time (thanks to Stefanie) for more hobbies. Jake enjoyed taking his Harley motorcycles and Corvette to car shows with his grandson, Anthony. He also started taking guitar lessons, practicing at home and collecting guitars. Jake enjoyed traveling and road trips with his wife, Linda. When given the opportunity, he enjoyed swimming in the ocean and spending time on the beach with a Piña Colada or Margarita in his hand. His laughter boomed, his blue eyes sparkled, and according to his cardiac team, Papa had swag and a beard many men would envy.

Jake loved talking to people and sharing his stories about his life adventures. Jake lived his life to the fullest.

Jake is survived by his wife, Linda; their children, Stefanie (Jason) Wallace of Rockton, IL, and Ashlee (Ian) of Rockford, IL; his grandchildren, Maxwell (Hailey), Anthony (Daria), Payton, and Logan; his great grandson, Henry, with another great grandson on the way; his brother, Gary (Vicki) Jacob; nieces and nephews; and his beloved dogs, Echo and Macie. He is preceded in death by his parents and his son, Dustin J. Boyce.

A visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 25 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. in McCorkle Funeral Home - Rockton Chapel, 767 N. Blackhawk Blvd., Rockton IL. Funeral Ceremony will be held on Thursday, September 26 at 1:00 pm in McCorkle Funeral Home - Rockton Chapel. Burial will be in Rockton Township Cemetery.
