James M. “Jim” Green, 78, of Rockton, IL, died at 1:20 a.m., Monday, May 22, 2017 in Medina Nursing Home after a lengthy illness.\r\n\r\nBorn October 8, 1938 in Winnebago, IL, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Harold and Eva (Martens) Green. He graduated from West High School, Class of 1956. He married Carolyn L. Nickless in Shirland, IL on July 26, 1958. He was employed as a tool & die maker by Barber Colman, retiring in 2000. He was a member of Shirland United Methodist Church and was a volunteer fireman for Shirland.\r\n\r\nSurvivors include wife Carolyn Green of Rockton; son Randy (Kendre) Green of Rockton; daughter Marcia Green of Rockford; grandchildren Emily, Angie, and Riley; step grandsons Payton and Spencer Harris; sister Judy (Bill) Duckworth of Rockford; several nieces and nephews and his beloved dog Minnie. He was preceded in death by his parents.\r\n\r\nFuneral Ceremonies will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, May 26, 2017 in Shirland United Methodist Church with the Reverend Mark Meyers officiating. Burial will be in Shirland Township Cemetery. A visitation will be held Thursday, May 25 from 5:00 p.m., to 7:00 p.m. at McCorkle Funeral Home-Rockton Chapel, 767 N Blackhawk Blvd, Rockton, IL. \r\n\r\nMemorials have been established to Shirland United Methodist Church, 8030 North St, Shirland, IL 61079.
