James C. Ruggles

James C. Ruggles, 90, of Durand, IL died at 2:35 a.m., Friday March 11, 2016 in Medina Nursing Center after a lengthy illness.

He was born December 25, 1925 in Quincy, Kentucky, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Calvin and Grace (VanHous) Ruggles.  James graduated from Ohio University in 1952 with a Certified Public Accounting degree.  He married Carma J. Johnson in Wheelersburg, Ohio on June 27, 1948.

Jim was employed as a CPA with various companies over his life and finally retired in 1994.  He is a veteran of WW II, having served in the U.S. Army.  Member of First Baptist Church in Pecatonica, IL; the Gideons, Durand Lions Club and Pecatonica American Legion Eugene J. Barloga Post #197.

Survivors include wife Carma Ruggles; sons Michael (Vicky) Ruggles and Craig (Rita) Ruggles; daughter Tammy (Kurt) Schmidgall; son Jon (Diana) Ruggles; seven grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; five step grandchildren; 11 step great grandchildren; brother Douglas Ruggles; sister Janet Combs and several nieces and nephews.

He is predeceased by his parents and sister Wanda.

Street and Washington St, Pecatonica, IL with Pastor David Myers officiating.  Burial will be in Durand Township Cemetery, Durand, IL.

A visitation will be held at the First Baptist Church from 10:00 am until time of ceremony on Saturday.
