James A. Spatz, 46, Rockton, Illinois, died at 8:45 p.m., Monday, March 29, 2010 in Rockford Memorial Hospital after a sudden illness. \r\r\n\r\r\n Born February 11, 1964 in Rockford, Illinois the son of Mr. and Mrs. Richard O. and Ellen L. (Stevenson) Spatz. Lived 14 years in Rockton, Illinois coming here from Rockford, Illinois. Married the former Pamela K. Knight in Rockford, Illinois on June 22, 1985. He was employed in the production department of Dean Foods in Rockford for five years and was previously employed by Atwood Mobile Products for 21 years. Member of St. Andrew Lutheran Church, Rockton, Illinois. James loved camping, fishing, canoeing and being outdoors, enjoyed construction and building structures and spending time with his family and their family vacations. He attended West High School. \r\r\n\r\r\n Survivors include wife Pamela Spatz, son Christopher Spatz and daughter Stephanie Spatz, all of Rockton, Illinois; beloved dog Mandy; parents Richard and Ellen Spatz and brother Richard Russell (Kim Marcella) Spatz, both of Rockford, Illinois; several other family members; mother-in-law Margaret Aldridge and best friend Tim Gargani, Rockton, Illinois. He was preceded in death by his paternal and maternal grandparents. \r\r\n\r\r\n Funeral ceremonies will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, April 3, 2010 in McCorkle Funeral Home, 767 N Blackhawk Blvd, Rockton, Illinois with Reverend Rick Wagner, pastor of St. Andrew Lutheran Church, officiating. Burial in Rockton Township Cemetery, 600 West Street, Rockton, Illinois. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m., Friday, April 2. \r\r\n\r\r\n A memorial will be established.
