Jane King Obituary (1946 - 2024)

Jane K. King, 78, of Durand, IL died at 4:10 p.m., Tuesday, April 16, 2024 in her home after a lengthy illness. She was born January 4, 1946 in Beloit, WI the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Harold and Marion (Carroll) Slamp. Jane graduated from Durand High School the class of 1964. Jane married Richard King in Rockford, IL. Jane worked as court clerk at Winnebago County Court House for over 20 years. Life long Member of St. Mary Catholic Church; Avid Chicago Cubs, Bulls and Bears Fan; She was an avid bowler; enjoyed traveling, especially to Arizona and Florida. Survivors include: sons Ryan (Shannon King Davenport), Jeff (Melissa McDermott) King, Andrew (Ashley Schultz) King; grandchildren Savannah Mitchell, Maggie Schultz, Elijah King; great grandchildren Joseph, Natalia; sister Judy (Bill) Wilhelmi; brother James (Cindy) Slamp; numerous nieces and nephews. Predeceased by parents, husband, infant brother. Cremation Rites to be Accorded with Memorial Ceremonies to be held at a later date. McCorkle Funeral Home - Durand Chapel assisted the family.
