Jane Ray Flynn

Jane Ray Flynn passed away on February 12, 2022, after a long illness. Jane was born July 3, 1935, daughter of Raymond and Dorothy Doty Flynn of Pecatonica, Illinois.

Jane finished elementary school at St. Mary's Catholic School in Rockford then became a resident at St. Mary's of Providence in Chicago, IL. In 1971 she was enrolled in Mount St. Joseph, a Catholic institution for special needs women in Lake Zurich, Illinois. Jane resided there for the rest of her life, a total of 51 years. Jane was lovingly cared for by the nurses and staff at Mount St. Joseph for all that time. It was her home. In her younger years, Jane helped in the laundry and participated in sheltered workshops. She was named "Employee of the Year" at Opportunities in Chicago in 1997. Jane was also an expert puzzle assembler. 1000 piece puzzles were no challenge for Jane. Her puzzle table in the day room at Mount St. Joseph was a permanent fixture in the day room.

Janes family will be eternally grateful for the kindness, the professional nursing care, and the obvious love the staff had for Jane.

Jane is survived by her cousins Carole Doty Gasparini, James and Judy Flynn, Marcia Flynn Dirksen and Gordon Dirksen , Nancy Flynn Eckburg and Dick Eckburg, and many other second cousins.

Janes funeral will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, February 19, 2022 at St. Mary Catholic Church, 126 W. 5th street, Pecatonica, IL. Burial to be in St. Mary Catholic Cemetery, Pecatonica, IL. A visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 10:45 a.m., Saturday, February 19, 2022 at McCorkle Funeral Home - Pecatonica Chapel, 203 W. Fifth Street, Pecatonica, IL.
