Jeanette Stogsdill

–

Roscoe, Illinois

Jeanette (Jean) Alean Stogsdill (Brown) passed away November 21, 2025 in Roscoe, IL at her home after a lengthy battle with leukemia.

She was born December 12, 1935 to Margaret and Archibald Brown (deceased). She was the oldest of four children, predeceased by her brothers Kenneth and Douglas, leaving her beloved sister Mary Bestor of Rockton.

She married the love of her life, Ronald Gene Stogsdill (deceased) on February 9, 1954 and spent 50 years in Rockton, IL where they raised three children. They moved to Roscoe shortly before Ronald passed in 2008.

Jean leaves behind: her oldest daughter Cynthia Lefebvre (Stogsdill) and husband David of North Attleborough, MA; her grandson Luc Lefebvre and wife Laura of Swansea, MA; her granddaughter Alida Lefebvre and husband Austin Lastoskie of Philadelphia, PA; and her third child, son Daniel Stogsdill and partner Deb Baggs of Rockford, IL. Her middle daughter Penny Phillips of Phoenix, AZ, predeceased her in 2018. She will also be missed by: her sister-in-law, Bertha Stogsdill, of Mauston, WI; cousin Vanieta Willis of South Beloit, IL; former neighbors of over 50 years from Rockton, Ronald and Norma Jasinski; and lifelong friend, Nancy Hopkins, also of Rockton, who had stood up with them at their wedding.

Being Depression children, Ron and Jean understood the concept of hard work, which they
passed on to their children. They loved working together as partners in their woodshop and had long standing friendships formed throughout their time together in their neighborhoods.

In lieu of flowers, donations should be made to your local animal rescue shelter in both her name and that of her late companion shelter cat, Diamond.

No services will be held at this time.
