On June 20, 2023, Joan Robare, 94, a long-time Roscoe educator and civic leader slipped quietly from this life due to natural causes.

She is survived by sons Craig (Nancy) Sundstedt, David (Kathy) Sundstedt, Bernard (Cindy) Sundstedt, Shawn (Kim) Robare, Jeffrey Robare, Joel Robare, and daughters Nichole (Clif Morris) Hoey and Bridget (Dan) Balsley. Predeceased by her parents John and Loueen (Stolte) Rapp, husbands David A. Sundstedt and Fred D. Robare, Joan leaves behind 11 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren, along with a strong and supportive network of friends and organizations with whom she thrived and found purpose.

A funeral ceremony will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, June 30, 2023 in McCorkle Funeral Home - Rockton Chapel 767 N. Blackhawk Blvd., Rockton, IL with Pastor Megan Vaughan officiating. Burial will be in Roscoe Township Cemetery. A visitation will be held at the funeral home from 9:30 am until time of ceremony Friday.
