JoAnn A. Freese, 82, of Pecatonica, IL died at 8:40 p.m., Saturday, May 5, 2018 in Wesley Willows surrounded by her family. \r\n\r\nShe was born September 18, 1935 in Stephenson County, Illinois, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Charles and Hannah (Harms) Jacobs. JoAnn graduated from Wessels Grade School and then Freeport High School, Class of 1953. She married Roger P. Freese in Freeport, IL on November 21, 1958. JoAnn retired as the Fleet Manager at the Illinois State Police in Pecatonica after 25 years of service. She was a member of Park Hills Evangelical Free Church and a former member of Zion Church. She was also a member of Pecatonica Lions Club for over 35 years and held various offices, Knit for Peace in Pecatonica, IL, White Cross & Knitting Group at Park Hills Church and the Winnebago Golden Arches Supper Club.\r\n \r\nSurvivors include: husband Roger P. Freese of Pecatonica, IL; daughters Tamara (Phillip Lowery) Burnett of Machesney Park, IL and Wendy (Dennis) Gregory of Rockford, IL; grandchildren Christina Gregory, Beth (Bobby) Gates, Tiffany (Robert Wilson) Burnett, Lindsey (Chris Martinez) Burnett, Travis (fiancé Megan Pudlik) Burnett; great grandchildren Alexis, Taylor, Landynn, Ethan, Hunter, Greyson, Freya and Lily; brother-in-law Jerry (Marilyn) Freese; sister-in- law Dolores Freese; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, brother Clifford Jacobs, son-in-law Gary Burnett and brother-in-law Marvin Freese. \r\n\r\nA Funeral ceremony will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, May 10, 2018 in Park Hills Evangelical Free Church, 2525 West Stephenson Street, Freeport, IL with Pastor Mark Balmer officiating. Burial will be in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens in Freeport, IL. A visitation will be held at the church from 9:30 a.m. until time of funeral on Thursday. \r\n\r\nIn lieu of flowers memorials may be given to Park Hills Evangelical Free Church.
