It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of John Clifford Miller on May 2, 2023. Born in Rockford, IL on June 28, 1946, John was an ambitious, funny, and loyal man who touched the lives of many throughout his life. As Helen Keller once said, "The best and most beautiful things in the world cannot be seen or even touched - they must be felt with the heart." For those who knew John, this sentiment rings true as his inspiring presence brought joy and laughter to those around him.
John dedicated his career to serving the Pecatonica community as a police officer and later working for the Pecatonica Township, maintaining the roads that connected the town he loved. Throughout his life, John was passionate about his hobbies, which included boating, riding motorcycles, bird watching, flying airplanes, planting gardens, fishing, and immersing himself in nature. His love for life was truly contagious, and he was a constant reminder to others that happiness can be found in the simplest of things.
Family was the most important thing in John's life, and he was a devoted husband to his late wife, Cynthia, whom he married on July 11, 1970. Their love story was truly one for the ages, and together they raised a beautiful family. John was a loving father to his daughter, Kellie, Son Michael and a doting grandfather to grandchildren Logan, Jacquelyn, Essie, Miracle, Paige, and Malichaih. He was also a proud great-grandfather to Tyler and Jay.
John was preceded in death by his father, Clifford, mother, Maxine, and wife, Cynthia. He is survived by his daughter Kellie, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
