Joshua Alan “Josh” Spencer, 26, of Lake Summerset, IL died 5:25 a.m., Thursday, September 14, 2017 in Davis, IL. \r\nBorn June 5, 1991 to Sheila Birbilas Romey of Davis, IL. Graduated from Durand High School, Class of 2009 and earning his associated degree in auto mechanics from Highland Community College. Josh was employed as a DC auto mechanic working in auto repair. Hard work was never a challenge for Josh as he gave his best at everything. \r\nJosh was an avid camper, he loved fishing and boat rides with his mom and sisters, especially when they took trips to the Mississippi River. He also loved reading anything about cars. Recently Josh had discovered a new line of work and passion, working alongside friend Casey Jarecki at Arborcare, climbing and trimming the trees. Outside with nature and talking to the clients being where Josh was the happiest. \r\nJosh was such a great friend to everyone, whether it was working on their cars or helping remodel their home, he wanted to help and to be a part of what was going on within his community of friends. \r\nHe leaves to honor his life his mother Sheila Birbilas Romey; sisters Brooklyn and Madyson Romey; maternal grandparents Jill and John Jones and Ray and Bonnie Birbilas; uncles Ray (Tony Beall) Birbilas and Eric Birbilas; father- like figure Michael Sweet; his Spencer family especially his cousins Chelsey, Paidge, and Jesse Spencer; aunt Kathy Smith; her parents George and Barb Hertzner; too many close friends and family members to list here; his special buddy, Zuri; half-brother Colby Spencer; half-sister Alisha Spencer; father Alfred Spencer and paternal grandmother Faye Spencer.\r\nHe is preceded in death by his paternal Grandpa Spencer.\r\nFuneral ceremonies will be held at 10:30 a.m., Thursday, September 21, 2017 at McCorkle Funeral Home-Durand Chapel, 101 W Main Street, Durand, IL with Pastor Eddie Eddy of Embury United Methodist Church, Freeport, IL officiating. Final resting place will be in Epleyanna Cemetery in Davis, IL. A visitation will be held at the funeral home from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, September 20, 2017.\r\nA memorial will be established.
