Karen Lea Tipton, 54, of Pecatonica IL, died 11:07 a.m., Wednesday, May 24, 2017 in her home after a sudden illness. \r\n\r\nBorn April 4, 1963 in Freeport, IL, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Robert and Dawn (Shafer) Gibler. Graduated from Pecatonica High School, Class of 1981. Married to Wesley O. Tipton in Ridott, IL on August 21, 1982. She was employed as a pharmacy technician for Pecatonica Pharmacy for many years.\r\n\r\nSurvivors included husband Wesley Tipton, Pecatonica, IL; daughters Dana Tipton, Chicago, IL and Jenna Tipton, Winnebago, IL; mother Dawn Gibler, Pecatonica, IL; brothers Kenneth (Sue) Gibler, Durand, IL, Raymond (Denise) Gibler, Winnebago, IL, Neil (Christine) Gibler, Winnebago, IL and Robert (Tammy) Gibler, Pecatonica, IL; numerous nieces and nephews; special family and close friends. She was preceded in death by her father and sister Deborah VanMatre. \r\n\r\nFuneral ceremonies will be held at 6:00 p.m., Tuesday, May 30, 2017 in New Life Bible Church, Corner of US 20 and Hoisington Rd, Winnebago, IL, with Pastor Dan Kennedy officiating. Final resting place will be Ridott Cemetery in Ridott, IL. Visitation will be held in the church from 3:00 p.m. to time of funeral Tuesday. McCorkle Funeral Home-Countryman Chapel, 529 Washington St. Pecatonica, IL assisted the family.\r\n\r\nA memorial will be established.
