Keith Bruyr

Keith F. Bruyr, Sr., 70, of Lake Summerset, IL passed away peacefully at 8:02 p.m., Saturday, March 20, 2021 in his home surrounded by his loving family.

Keith was born September 26,1950 in Chicago, IL the son of Mr. and Mrs. Clement and Lorraine (Thompson) Bruyr. He entered the U.S. Marine Corps at the age of 18 serving during the Vietnam War. When he was discharged he began working as a carpenter in commercial construction in the Chicagoland area retiring in 1995. He was a member of Chicago Regional Council Local #13. In his free time he enjoyed hunting, fishing and boating. Being a grandfather was the greatest joys of his life. He loved taking his grandchildren out boating on Lake Summerset and teaching them to fish and go tubing. He also enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.

Survivors include: son Keith F. (Jill) Bruyr Jr., their daughters Emily and Alice; son Loren Bruyr his children Jake, Emma and Annaleigh; son Gary (Jessica) Seego; their children Joshua and Ava; Daughter Kelly C. Bruyr; her daughter Avery; brother Roger (Beverly) Holt; sister Lorene (Dan) Noethen; numerous nieces and nephews.

Keith was preceded in death by his parents and his great nephew Jason Robert Maddox.

A memorial ceremony will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 3, 2021 in McCorkle Funeral Home - Durand Chapel 101 W. Main St. Durand, IL with Pastor Eric Lemonholm officiating. Cremation Rites to be Accorded. A memorial visitation, following COVID 19 guidelines of wearing of masks and social distancing, will be held at the funeral home from 11:00 a.m. until time of ceremony.
