Kelley Jean Olsen

We are saddened that on July 24, 2021, at 7 p.m., at the age of 57, Kelley went to be with her Heavenly Father. She passed peacefully in her home surrounded by her family. Born Kelley Jean Peter on September 4, 1963, in Rockford, Illinois, to Beverly Ann (Doubek) Peter and Thomas Howard Peter.

Kelley graduated from Durand High School Class of 1981 and received an Associates Degree in Accounting from Rockford Business College. She married her high school sweetheart, Curtis Duane Olsen, on March 19, 1983 in Davis, IL. They moved to the town of Davis, Illinois, where they remained and raised their two children, Darren and Natalie. She and her husband own the Rock City Tap, Best Dam Bar, and the Lakeside Plaza. Kelley was also the Office Manager and Accountant of Spring Brook Cheese.

Along with her husband, Kelley was active in the community and loved to support the many causes and fundraisers in the area, including Dakota sports teams. She was also a generous giver to multiple charitable organizations.

Although working full-time and running several businesses, Kelley still found time and loved puttering in her flower beds. However, her greatest joy was her family of which she as extremely proud. They loved being together whether it was on the pontoon, walking her granddogs, bowling and dart leagues. Kelley was a generous spirit and would do most anything for anyone who needed a helping hand. This generosity was repaid in tenfold by the outpouring of support from family and friends during her illness.

Kelley is survived by her husband Curt; son Darren; daughter Natalie; mother Beverly Peter; sister Carla (Tom) Street; mother in-law Barbara Olsen; brother and sister in laws Tom and Jana Olsen, Jeff and Brenda Olsen, Lori and Jeff Stearns; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews.

She is predeceased by her father, maternal grandparents John and Leone (Priester) Doubek and paternal grandparents Carl and Virginia (Murphy) Peter, and father-in-law Richard Olsen.

A memorial ceremony will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, August 14, 2021 in St. Paul Church of Eplyanna 8800 E. Eplyanna Rd. Davis, IL With Pastor Scott Naevestad officiating. Cremation Rites were Accorded with Burial in Davis Cemetery. A visitation from 10:00 a.m., until time of ceremony at the Church. A Celebration of Life will be held on Main Street in Rock City, IL immediately following the services.

In Lieu of flowers memorials may be given to: St. Jude Children's Hospital, Samaritan's Purse, or Rockford Rescue Mission
