Kenneth James Tansor, 90, of Janesville, Wi died at 9:45 p.m., Wednesday, August 8, 2018 at SSM St. Marys Hospital in Janesville, Wi. \r\n\r\nBorn July 18, 1928 in Chicago, IL, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Arthur and Harriet (Rubschlager) Tansor, grew up financially poor; ended up spiritually rich. \r\n\r\nGraduating from Irving Park Grammar, Carl Schurz High Schools- Chicago, Luther College- Decorah, IA and Wartburg Seminary- Dubuque, IA.\r\n\r\nKenneth’s pastoral work included St. Paul, Rice Lake; Zion, Fair Water; Hephatha, Milwaukee- all in Wisconsin. Prince of Peace, Rockton and Zion, Philo- both in Illinois. As well as interim pastoral work at Hope, Milton; Luther Valley, Beloit; St. Peter, Janesville; Cooksville; Pella, Clinton- all in Wisconsin. Faith, South Beloit and Jefferson Prairie, Poplar Grove – both in Illinois. \r\n\r\nWhen talking about his family Kenneth said: “I have been blessed with a wonderful wife, Verdelia Ilon Anderson and four excellent children- how they could be better? I don’t know! Also, I have been graced with grand and great grandchildren whom I love.”\r\n\r\nSurvivors include daughters Deborah (Brian) Tracy, Dorothy (Mark) Bush and Kristine Saey; son David (Teresa) Tansor; grandchildren Sara (Mike) Barnhart, Stephen Tracy, Mark Beachey, Matthew (Susan) Beachey, Amber (Greg) Smith, Nick (Stephanie) Bush, Kayla (Forrest) Wiltfang, Danielle Saey, Erica (Josh) Naughton and Jessica Miller and great grandchildren Isaac, Reuben, Josiah, Silas, Kali, Isaak, Gavin, Brady, Samantha, Emma and Avery.\r\n\r\nHe is preceded in death by his parents and brother Arthur Tansor\r\n\r\nKenneth enjoyed many different activities including flying, swimming and walking railroad tracks and his favorite phrase was “I’d rather wear out than rust out.” \r\n\r\nA memorial ceremony will be held at 11:00 am Thursday August 16, 2018 in Prince of Peace Lutheran Church 2336 Freeport Rd Rockton, IL with Pastor Hank Corcoran officiating. Cremation Rites to be Accorded. A memorial visitation will be held at the church from 9:30 am until time of ceremony.\r\n\r\nA memorial will be established.
