Kimberly A. Britton, 48, Rockford, Illinois lost her battle with cancer surrounded by her family and was welcomed into the gates of Heaven by her momma and son Travis on February 9, 2014 at 7:55 am. \r\r\n\r\r\n Born October 21, 1965, the daughter of Mary Helen (Fretwell) “DayDay-Tootsie” and Walter Kenneth Britton “D’Kenny”. She has left a void that no one will ever be able to fill and she has left many memories no one will ever forget. Kim loved being “MawMaw” to her grandbabies, Kaden, Cason, Trent, Jaylin, and Harmony and her daughters Brittany (Colt), Jenna, Morgan and Chelsea will miss her being just a phone call away anytime they needed her whether it be day or night. Her love Pete Castle will also miss her dearly. Kim was always the baby of the family and she shared a close bond with her sisters Vicky, Sue (Doug), Debbie, Linda, Penny and her brother Kastan. Kim was loved by everyone; she lived her life for others and was a caretaker of all. Whether it was taking in a stray animal or opening her couch to a person in need, you always had a place at Kim’s table. She enjoyed being outdoors, listening to music, and riding motorcycles and horses. Kim was proud to be a “Britton Girl” and would always stand up for her family. Although she was never rich, she had more than any of us. She didn’t have a mansion but she had a home that was always full of family, friends, and babies. Kim has gone to Heaven leaving behind her many nieces, nephews, cousins and her special friends Robert, Tiffany, Renee, and Tammy. She was preceded in death by her mother and father, her son Travis, and her nephews Subby and Robert. \r\r\n\r\r\n Funeral ceremonies will be held at 1:00 p.m., Friday, February 14, 2014 in McCorkle Funeral Home-Durand Chapel, 101 Main Street, Durand, Illinois.
