Lorraine Angell, 93, of South Beloit, Illinois formerly of Des Plaines, died Thursday, October 1, 2015 after a long illness.\r\r\n\r\r\nBorn April 25, 1922 in Chicago, Illinois, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Lauk. Lorraine was a graduate of St. Philomena Commercial High School, Chicago. She worked for many years as a secretary. She studied ballet for years and eventually fulfilled her dream of owning a dance studio, opening Angell Dance Academy in Edison park. \r\r\n\r\r\n After moving to Des Plaines she founded Angel Town Private School and served on a committee which developed the first Illinois standards for infant day care centers. She also became a realtor and after retiring as President of Angel Town, opened Angell Realty. Once, she heard that a nearby house was about to be torn down, she went to work to see if she could save it. That was the beginning of four successful house moves. \r\r\n\r\r\n She was a very loving mother and grandmother and taught everyone that “nothing is impossible” and “where there is a will there is a way.” She was a mayoral candidate in Des Plaines in the Late 1970’s.\r\r\n\r\r\nSurvivors include son, Donald (Jean) Angell, Itasca, Illinois; Robert Angell, South Beloit, Illinois; daughter, Michele Mulhall (late Joseph), Connecticut; several grandchildren, great grandchildren; sister Dorothy (Robert) Juran, Elmwood Park, Illinois; brothers, Ray (Diane) Lauk and Robert (Katherine) Lauk, Melbourne, Florida; and numerous nieces and nephews\r\r\n\r\r\nMemorial Mass will be held at\r\r\n\r\r\n 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, October 13, 2015 \r\r\n\r\r\nin St Peter the Apostle Church, 524 N Rush Street, Itasca, Illinois. Visitation will be held from 10:30 a.m. un\r\r\n\r\r\ntil time of service. Burial will immediately follow the funeral mass at St. Michael the Archangel Cemetery, 1185 W Algonquin Road, Palatine, Illinois. Cremation rites will be accorded. \r\r\n\r\r\n In lieu of flowers, a memorial will be established.
