Lorraine M. Koehler

Lorraine M. Koehler, 84, Pekin, Illinois died at 12:55 p.m., Wednesday, March 18, 2015 in Wesley Willows, Rockford, Illinois after a brief illness.

She was born January 15, 1931 in Burlington, Iowa, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Lester G. and Annabelle B. (Haege) Smith. She attended Bradley University in Peoria. She married Donald James Koehler in Peoria, Illinois on December 22, 1951. She was a member of the DAR. As an amateur artist, she won many blue ribbons at local art fairs.

Survivors include daughter, Delight (Richard) Bernath, Durand, Illinois; grandchildren, Stuart Allen Bernath and April Loreen (Tommy) Olsen. She was preceded in death by her parents and infant sister, Betty.

Funeral ceremonies will be held at 6:00 p.m., Monday, March 23, 2015 in Durand United Methodist Church, 102 East Main Street, Durand, Illinois with Pastor Brian Channel officiating. Committal ceremony will be in Glendale Memorial Gardens, 18119 State Route 9, Pekin, Illinois at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, March 24. Visitation will be held at the church from 4:30 p.m. until time of service Monday.
